Financial understanding and forecasting are the cornerstones of any successful business. No business likes being surprised by unexpected or unplanned costs. The processes which underpin all areas/functions across the business need to be developed to ensure a clear forecast is identified at an appropriate level, against which robust monitoring and review can be completed.
The effectiveness is driven by the processes, so we look to analyse, simplify and implement end-to-end process improvements. Initially we focus on the finance department input and involvement across the business and look to identify areas for development. Structure, personnel and communication within that department are also key to the review – all vital considerations no matter what the size of the business.
